This lecture addresses the critical and often uncomfortable realities faced by Black and Brown girls in gymnastics, as more athletes of color enter the sport. It explores the challenges of racism, microaggressions, isolation, and unconscious bias that these gymnasts can encounter. Through real-life examples and an open dialogue, attendees will gain insight into these experiences and engage in meaningful discussion about how to recognize, address, and navigate these issues to create a more inclusive and supportive environment in gymnastics.
