Explore key training priniciples essential to developing a well-rounded strength program to ensure performance gains and injury prevention. This session will also include a brief overview of foundational kinesiotaping concepts, along with a demonstration of a simple, less restrictive taping technique for ankle sprains.
This lecture will take a deep dive into the importance of hip strength and how it can help prevent many common injuries and issues, especially knee pain. Gymnastics is a sport that is primarily performed in the sagittal plane (moving forward and backwards) and not as much in the lateral plane. This creates the potential for reduced strength development in the lateral hip – leading to imbalances and potential injuries down the road.
