The Possibility Project is a program designed to help athletes discover the power of their own possibility both in and out of the gym. This system helps athletes understand how to take responsibility for their own choices, develop the confidence they need to succeed while teaching them about how valuable they are as individuals. The Possibility Project consists of eleven steps that can be taught over time or in one afternoon – you choose! You will also walk away knowing the four Possibility Statements, “I am, I can, I have, I will.”, which can be used by anyone.
The Possibility Project isn’t limited to young athletes either. It can be used for staff development and training as well. Confidence isn’t easy for everyone, but everyone can feel more confident once they understand that it’s not always about the outcome. Success and confidence don’t have to go hand in hand, but they certainly can complement one another.

Every coach steps into the role carrying a script they didn’t write. It’s the one handed to them by the coaches who came before — the good, the inspiring, and the deeply harmful. Those patterns repeat from generation to generation, shaping how coaches set expectations, communicate, motivate, and respond under pressure. Some coaches follow the script exactly because it’s all they’ve ever seen; others rebel against it, but still feel its pull when things get hard.
This session looks directly at those inherited patterns and how they show up in today’s gyms. Through lecture and guided discussion, coaches and managers will explore which behaviors are worth carrying forward and which patterns need to be intentionally broken so they aren’t passed to the next generation.
Internal and External amplitude: How mastery of these concepts at the compulsory level ultimately translates into exceptional optional performances. A valuable tool to separate good routines from great ones.
Every coach has a unique blend of strengths, instincts, and leadership qualities that shape the experience they create for athletes. But few coaches are ever given dedicated time or tools to intentionally explore who they are as a coach and how to grow into the leader they want to be.

Through reflective prompts, scenario-based questions, and guided exercises, participants will uncover the attributes that define their coaching persona—from communication style, to energy, to class presence, to leadership tendencies. Coaches will learn how to:

Gymnastics works like math: learn basics, add them together, and then just multiply! This simple description has helped my athletes understand the importance of conditioning, good shapes and basic skills. As coaches, we understand why having a good mastery of basic skills helps athletes acquire skills; however, helping kids understand that can be difficult. Come learn how making basics fun and conditioning a “get to” (never a “have to”) can be the first step in building confident, consistent athletes! From group games to step by step breakdowns of drills and skills, come learn how to make the hard part fun again!
Progression steps are a key foundation to successful training both mentally and physically. The idea is to teach with strategy focusing on form, proper next steps, and patience to allow the gymnast’s courage and trust in themselves/coaches build alongside those progression steps. That’s where mental coaching comes in.
Mental training teaches the athlete to focus and learn how to apply corrections they’ve received in a way that makes sense to them. This will include understanding their learning/communication styles, creating a safe environment for the athlete to express themselves, and assess which steps need to be taken in order for the athlete to progress. These steps are also important because if something were to happen causing a mental block, moving to previous steps have shown to be beneficial in rewiring the athlete’s thought process. Mental training is a great tool for coaches, athletes, and parents who are curious about how to best support their child in challenging situations.
Emergencies and unexpected situations don’t wait for the perfect staff member or the perfect moment. How a club responds in those first few minutes depends heavily on the preparation, communication, and systems that were built long before anything went wrong.
This session gives coaches and club leaders a clear, practical look at how readiness is developed — from strong policies and daily communication habits to tabletop walk-throughs, staff training, and on-the-floor decision making. In this experiential workshop, participants will explore how well-designed systems can prevent confusion, reduce risk, and shape a coordinated response when the unexpected happens.
Note: This is an extended, 2-hour session.
